The Venezuelan race car driver Francisco Cerullo had an impeccable showing at the Eagles Canyon Raceway in Dallas, Texas, on Sunday, winning his second race of this year’s Latam F2000 and rising to first place in the standings.
In wet conditions, Cerullo took off in eighth place and steadily gained on his competitors, reaching the front and hanging on until the checkered flag waved at the finish line.
As in his first victory at Eagles Canyon, Cerullo, who was driving for the RE Racing Team sponsored by Venezuela’s Ministry of Sports and Taller Jackers, was accompanied on the podium by Mexico’s José Gutiérrez and Guatemala’s Sebastián Arriola.
His second win allowed him to reach 264 points and take over the top spot in the rankings from Mexico’s José Carlos Sandoval, who came in fifth on Sunday.
The series continues this weekend, October 19 and 20, at MotorSport Ranch in Houston, where Cerullo also earned two wins last year.
