We at Eagles Canyon would like to thank you for your support of the track in 2013. We are looking forward to 2014 and have many returning events and new events planned for next year. To kick things off, this is the first of monthly newsletters to keep everyone up to date with what is going on at www.eaglescanyon.com Here is an overview of a few things we have planned for 2014.
2013 was an awesome year for ECR. Many successful races programs with NASA, SCCA, PCA, Lemons, CVAR, and a Off Road race on our new dirt track. We also had many successful HPDE’s and member days. Several media productions were filmed at the track including Fast & Loud, a music video, and lots and lots of new video added to YouTube from different people driving the track. We check often for new videos and always feel free to send us a link or a copy of your footage. Tim Williams and Corey White completed the first layout of the new off road track on the additional 400+ acres next to the road track. We had over 50 Raptor Ford Trucks that came out for the initial testing thanks to Corey White and Five Star Ford.
David Cook has recently release his first of two books “ The Rise to Power”. David’s vast experience in dealing with high-ranking people in governments and different countries during his time at his own business, has given him the knowledge to write this series of books. He has always had faith and belief in the amazing universe we live in. In his travels all over the world, he’s been able to capture thoughts about other cultures. His working years allowed him to keep memoirs of his many experiences. He has used those experiences to apply to this all-encompassing set of books he has written, and will write. It is David’s hope that his work will provoke the reader to thought. He would like the reader to come away with a positive experience, and maybe a different way of seeing things.
The “24 hours of Lemons“ is returning this season. February 28th is the ECR practice day with March 1st and 2nd the race. If you have not been to a 24 hours of Lemons race. What are you waiting on? It’s crazy fun racing with built to race cars on a $500 budget. There are teams coming in from across the US and Mexico to compete in one of the funniest events of the year. Please see www.24hoursoflemons.com for more information.
CVAR is scheduled to be back in May where The Kastner Cup will be awarded to one Triumph Competitor. Every year the venue is changed. This year we feel honored that it will be be presented during the race at Eagles Canyon. www.corinthianvintagerace.com
Stan Culpepper and ECR are organizing a brand new Motorcycle Rally out at ECR in June. This first annual motorcycle rally is scheduled for the last full weekend in June. We are excited about the planning process and have events, vendors and sponsors already getting together to make this one of the must attend events at ECR for the year.
The Chump Racing series is coming back to ECR in November! We are excited that they are returning which gives us more endurance style racing than any other track in Texas. Please see www.chumpcar.com for more information.
In the works for upcoming events are endurance races, Off-Road races for ATV’s, and additional HDPE events including a drifting HPDE school and event. We are talking to many major clubs and event organizers, so there should be more going on than ever, on and off the track. Stan Culpepper (firstname.lastname@example.org) has joined the team at Eagles Canyon to help promote the track, so please feel free to contact him with any ideas, promotions or events you would like to discuss.
See you at the track!
